Belt
reinforcement consists of galvanized steel cord and core
rubber which possesses superior adhesive property. Belt body
comprises the reinforcement covered with top and bottom
rubber layers. Steel cord is composed of left and right
twisting wire and arranged evenly and longitudinally in the
belt.
The
basic strength material is steel cords placed
at fixed pitch, core compound and cover
compounds are added in pre-formatting process
under constant tension. The core rubber
ensures adequate penetration among the steel
cords. This will minimize the corrosion of
steel in case of any damage to the belt.
Neelkanth manufactures steel cord conveyor
belts to various strengths & covers
conforming to various National and
International standards. Neelkanth
manufactures Steel Cord Conveyor Belts upto
2400 mm width.
Types
of Cords used
The
Cords used in Neelkanth Steelcord Belt is made of
specially developed High Carbon Steel. During
manufacturing of Belts, these cords are held
longitudinally in a single layer under pre-determined
tension to ensure proper alignment. The Cords are Zinc
coated to ensure superior bonding between Cord and
Rubber as well as protect the same against corrosion.
The
Cords may have several types of configurations like 7
*7 , 1*19+7*7 , 7*19 etc.
The steel Cords , unlike free-running cable, do not need
any lubrication. Hence the core is not a lubricant but
an additional reinforcement. under load, the cords do
not tend to creep.
Structure
of Steel cords
Construction
of Steel cords
Twisted
wires make strands and strands make cords. The
direction of the strand is opposite to the
direction of wires as illustrated. Moreover the
cords are placed in the belt as "S"
& "Z" alternatively.
